Experimental Super Sonic aerpplaneXB-1

The experimental supersonic aeroplane XB-1, also known as Baby Boom, from Boom Technologies completed its maiden flight

However, Baby Boom did not yet accelerate to supersonic speed, reaching a maximum speed of 455 km/h (Mach 0.368). Nevertheless, the aircraft manufacturer speaks of a "milestone for the return of supersonic travel". The XB-1 still flies with relics from the past, namely three J85 turbojet engines from General Electric (GE). These were developed in the 1950s.
